6 Ships Blog

12/01/2015 – Bransfield Strait, 63 04 S 059 53 W

We are set for another expedition down South! Hanse Explorer left King George Island in the afternoon and heads out to Bransfield Strait. While we still settle on board, the Captains call us all to the bridge: Humpback Whales welcome us to Antarctica. They are getting close to the ship and we slow down. They are feeding on krill and let us enjoy the spectacular.

Only a short while after that we see the first tabular iceberg. And all of us realize, amazing weeks lay ahead of us!
