1 On Board - 1.2 Yacht Specification - 3 Efficiency

Built for maximum efficiency, Hanse Explorer was fashioned for minimal environmental impact. Her MAK diesel engine runs on light marine gas oil only and is modern, reliable and highly fuel-efficient. She is equipped with a shaft generator, which produces the ship’s electricity while underway and saves considerable amounts of fuel. A reverse osmosis (desalination) plant produces 20 tons of fresh water a day and the biological wastewater treatment plant transforms sewage into gray water, which is safely released back into the sea. A Hoppe Tank Anti-Rolling System reduces the ship’s movements while at sea for maximum safety and comfort. A Power Take-Home (PTH) System makes it possible to run all three auxiliary engines to generate enough electrical power to run the shaft generator as an electric motor for emergency propulsion.
